Screaming down the hills at 30 - 40 mph, carving the sharp turns really got our heart thumping . . .

Our first trip to Vicksburg to ride the Park on a bent was a blast! Screaming down the hills at 30 - 40 mph, carving the sharp turns really got our heart thumping . . . not from work, but excitement! Of course, there WAS work climbing a few of the hills, but most are rollers you can speed up, at least part way. Steve (Lightning F-40), Danny (Vivo) and this rider (Burley HepCat) were hooting and hollering with excitement as we sped around the one way drives. There were few people in the park in the early afternoon, but we did stop and talk to folks from New Jersey and Oklahoma . . . while resting near the top on one MAJOR hill on the river. All in all, the ride was invigorating! The short wheel base bents we rode gripped the road like glue and this rider felt very secure pedaling down most of the hills and around the curves, braking only occasionally. Your brakes should be in good working order, however :-). Once we got behind a slow vehicle and had to brake for a half mile till we could pass! We are talking about a monthly event and will possibly do the 16 mile ride twice next time . . . maybe.
