Journal Entry Apr 10, 2003 LLT ETV BBQ Ride Report Thanks to all for supporting our Bent-B-Q ride on the fabulous Longleaf Trace this past Saturday! We had a great crowd at the start and even more for lunch (see the start photo below)! The weather was moderate and suitable for a long ride in spite of the one small shower some experienced ;-). ETV cameras rolled along with bikes, trikes, tandems and skates as over thirty riders left Prentiss at about 10:15 AM. We rode up and down the trail giving the camera crew opportunities to capture the fun we were all having on film . . . sometimes over and over in the same location! We enjoyed meeting and riding with folks from Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Mississippi! We had a diverse group of riders from 7 years old to 77 years young, riding from 25 to 57 miles before lunch. Berry Hollow catered the excellent BBQ lunch at 2:00 PM providing plenty of food for all. LLT dignitaries expressed appreciation for our group in promoting the trail, and the local Possum Queen (see photo below) rode over on her new recumbent and provided plenty of entertainment while we enjoyed the lunch! After interviews and such, we finally left at about 6:30 PM. Micah (ETV Producer) said he got some good footage of many of you but asked if we could make another trip down for some shots with the helmet mounted camera. Our next planned trip is the first Saturday in May, but as always, plans could change so stay tuned for an update. We know all BentLovers join us in expressing our gratitude to Mississippi ETV and Micah Bomgaars for making this very important film about, not only The Place to ride in the south but also The Way to Ride . . .
