Journal Entry Jul 16, 2004 News BentLovers & Friends: Well, it has been awhile since we have taken a breath to assess the summer so far. In a word, it has been great! Thanks to all the new bent bike, upright bike and bent boat customers for keeping us on our toes! We really appreciate your support! Many of you have met Ed Bartusek, our shop manager. Ed continues to be an inspiration to us all . . . such a great guy, full of energy, ideas and organizational skills. We are very fortunate indeed to have him on board!!! If you haven't been to the shop in a while, you will see the difference! We have been riding, even if no report has been issued. Tuesday and Thursday Overlook rides have been mixed with some leisurely rides down the Trace, some alligator watching and even some roadie smoking sprints. There is something for all! Remember to ride about two feet from the right side of the road and check your lights for good visibility in the shadows. Sundays have been fun with some Rez, Bay and Holly Bush rides to keep us cool in the summer heat. It really is tolerable, if you just keep moving! Saturday morning rides have been fun as well. Tomorrow, we plan to take out the kayaks and cruise the bay. Come join us at the shop by 7 AM. Call if you plan to make it so we won't leave you. We all need to return by 9:00 AM to open the shop. The Rankin Chamber Expo was a great success yesterday with hundreds of people getting introduced to Bentdom! Look for some new faces on the roads and rivers real soon! We are planning a big showing at the Centennial Bike Ride from Prentiss on August 7th. This is a 100 km ride on the fabulous Long Leaf Trace! We have serious withdrawal pains from not doing the LLT in awhile, so we may have some pent-up energy to burn! Call us for details. We need riders for Team Ride South in the October MS 150 ride.
