Riding the Traces

Our Longleaf Trace Reunion Ride was a great success with the best weather we could imagine! Thanks to all who made the effort to launch with us in Prentiss, and also those that started from the Hattiesburg end. We enjoyed visiting with each of you and with several future BentLovers on the trail. It was fun riding with all our friends and visiting for a while. A special challenge was met as Paul and his young daughter spanned the Trace to Hattiesburg on their Sun Tandem, stopping to smell the roses and feed the emu at Llama Land. Way to go to all who bettered their personal best in miles and, hopefully, smiles! We will be loading some pics on the website soon.

We blasted off at 7:30 AM this past Saturday for The Natchez Trace Century Ride, with 300 cyclists in a mass start! That gets the pump going quickly! Before we knew it, it was time to turn around in order to keep the Ride South shop open in the afternoon. The weather was even better than last Saturday (see above) with lots of jet contrails streaking through the blue sky. As we glided by groups of cyclists, we pointed this out to several upright cyclists who responded with a blank stare. We think they did notice the colorful wild flowers growing at ground level, however. We even had our picture taken at one rest stop with a Bancorp South executive laying back on the Aero. It was great to see so many bents on the road! Up the Creek did a great job with the lunch and a good time was had by all! Good job to all our friends at the city of Ridgeland for a fantastic ride!
