A long line of high racers zooming up the Natchez Trace . . .

A long line of high racers zooming up the Natchez Trace outnumbered the wedgies on the road early Saturday morning! What a great feeling to cruise at the necessary speed to converse with the roadies, or not, and fly along like an eagle, or just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery we have here in Mississippi ! OK, so the eagle part is a bit over the top, but riding with friends who are amazed at their speeds obtained on these less and less weird looking bikes is a real high to this rider! Keeping the speed bar high is harder and harder these days with everyone getting faster and faster, but the physical reward is worth the effort. Thanks to all for sharing the passion of cycling from a different perspective!

Lane led an enthusiastic group of riders sporting a mix of great bikes and trikes on the second ride, including my sister Karen, niece Kendall, niece Jocelyn and nephew Garrett. It was great having family come over from Alabama to ride! You will all appreciate the efforts of sister Beverly and Mom next week when we break out fresh, home made fig preserves for the Saturday Bread Ride! Thanks to the fig picker, Charly, too!

We are considering August 25th as a slightly reasonable date for the Natchez or Bust Ride this year. We know it will be hot, but then we live in Mississippi, right! We need help for SAG vehicles, including a van driver for the return trip. The itinerary includes a very early start, lunch along the way, shower at the State Park, dinner in Natchez and drive home, all on Saturday. If you can help with the driving, please contact the shop, and we will move ahead with the arrangements.
