About Ridesouth Ride South is a full service bike and boat shop. For years we have purchased and sold only the best recumbents, upright bikes and kayaks. We can provide the best combination of comfort and performance in bikes and trikes at the lowest prices. We are dedicated to customer service and satisfaction. Be sure to stop in and visit our new showroom in the Jackson, Mississippi area. About Recumbents We are often asked why recumbents are better than the familiar upright bike. There is the obvious answer of a much more comfortable riding position, promoting more miles ridden. But we think the real secret of recumbents lies in where they will take you. Recumbents will take you through your neighborhood, with style and ease. They will carry you across town, or even across the country, in a safe, natural and efficient riding position. You will compete with superior aerodynamics and speed, or sit still and relax on a recumbent. Perhaps most importantly though, your first rides on a recumbent will transport you back to your childhood, when you first learned to ride a bicycle. Back to the feeling of accomplishment and liberation as... suddenly, your horizons have expanded beyond your imagination. The Latest News Jul 3, 2008 Independence Day Ride Jun 20, 2008 Shop Closed Early on Saturday 6/21 Apr 11, 2008 Shop Closed till Noon Saturday April 12th Regular Rides Tuesdays and Thursdays Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 PM from the Natchez Trace Overlook. Mixed groups of slow to moderately fast riders head up the Trace for great scenery and exercise. Rides last about 90 minutes to two hours, depending on where you wish to turn around. Stronger riders can choose to return on the Deerfield loop which involves a few hills. Either way, it's a great way to meet some other folks and test your metal! Wednesdays Wednesdays at 6:00 PM from Holmes Community College in Madison. Mixed groups of Bents and Uprights riding through the beautiful Mansions of Madison at moderately fast paces. Leisurely rides on the Highland Colony Parkway are always an option, depending on the consensus of the group. Saturdays Rides on Saturdays are generally special events and published via our bike customer e-mail distribution list or listed in the events section of our web site. Otherwise, we are open to Early Bird rides from the shop, returning by 10:00 AM. Launch time will vary from 7:30-8:00 AM, depending on the route. When events are not scheduled, watch the website for spontaneous rides on Saturdays or Sundays. Generally, details will be published by 5:00 PM on Fridays. Sundays Sundays at 2:00 PM from the Ride South Shop. The Round th' Rez Ride, Round th' Bay Ride & Holly Bush Rides are all popular. The Rez ride is probably the best and most scenic route available in Mississippi! Distances vary from 12 miles to 40 miles. Call if you are coming so we won't leave you! |
