About Ridesouth Ride South is a full service bike and boat shop. For years we have purchased and sold only the best recumbents, upright bikes and kayaks. We can provide the best combination of comfort and performance in bikes and trikes at the lowest prices. We are dedicated to customer service and satisfaction. Be sure to stop in and visit our new showroom in the Jackson, Mississippi area. About Recumbents We are often asked why recumbents are better than the familiar upright bike. There is the obvious answer of a much more comfortable riding position, promoting more miles ridden. But we think the real secret of recumbents lies in where they will take you. Recumbents will take you through your neighborhood, with style and ease. They will carry you across town, or even across the country, in a safe, natural and efficient riding position. You will compete with superior aerodynamics and speed, or sit still and relax on a recumbent. Perhaps most importantly though, your first rides on a recumbent will transport you back to your childhood, when you first learned to ride a bicycle. Back to the feeling of accomplishment and liberation as... suddenly, your horizons have expanded beyond your imagination. The Latest News Aug 4, 2010 Meeting in Greenwood & Ride LaunchTime Changes Jun 8, 2010 Summer Plans May 24, 2010 Preserve the Bread Ride Regular Rides Saturdays Our Rise & Shine Bread Ride launches from the Ride Shop at 7:30 AM, most of the year. We have at least two routes so everyone can participate. Choose the Bay Ride for a relaxing 12-25 mile ride through the Pelahatchie Bay area, mostly on bike trails! Choose the 36 mile Rez Ride for a spirited ride around the beautiful Ross Barnett Reservoir, including a scenic stretch along the Natchez Trace! Return by 10:00 AM for a slice of hot, freshly made oat bran bread, right out of the oven! Sundays On Sundays at 2:00 PM from the Ride South shop, Bay Rides are popular, as is the Yogi Ride, a 40 mile loop with some great hills! The ride turns at Yogi Bear Park in Pelahatchie and includes some great rural roads in Rankin County! Call ahead to find out the route of the day or just show up and ride! Weekdays Often we launch from the Ride South shop at 7:00 AM or 6:00 PM. Call ahead the day before to see if rides are planned and the route scheduled. |
