News Nov 4, 2009 Birthday Challenge Saturday, November 7!!! BentLovers & Friends The Ride South shop will be closed this Saturday for the Ride South Mass Start at the Longleaf Trace Birthday Challenge. Launch time is 9:00 AM from Prentiss, Mississippi! We expect perfect weather for cycling, and more than 200 cyclists! Plan to come early to register for the bicycle giveaway and other prizes. We plan to have the tickets in Prentiss by 8:00 AM, so be sure you get a red ticket placed in the Ride South canister, participate in the Mass Start and hang on to the stub for the drawing at 3:00 PM. You must be present to win. If you need a ride to Prentiss or want to follow us down, be at the shop by 6:30 AM, as it is about a 1 1/2 hour drive. Please arrange ahead of time as we may have several vehicles available with room for bikes and folks. We will not be leaving Prentiss on the return trip until about 4:00 PM. Here are a few things to remember: 1. Have your bike tires aired up, all systems checked out and your bike ready to ride. 2. Remember your helmet, water, sunscreen (mostly sunny, 60-75 F!) and spare tubes. 3. Wear your Ride South jerseys, if you can. 4. Register at the desk, get a red ticket, give a donation, ride your age and stay for the drawing. 5. Be safe, be courteous and have fun! We will open the shop this Sunday, by appointment, if you have special needs or want to purchase a new bike, kayak or trike. Just leave us a message as to the time you can come by! We plan to close for Thanksgiving beginning Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, Friday, and possibly Saturday, November 26-28. Be sure to pick up a Signature Ride flyer at the BC Ride this weekend! We have a new & improved route to Hattiesburg and a great route from Hattiesburg to Jackson! Of course, there are intermediate distances available as well. We have plans to make this a bigger event than the BC, so make your plans now for March 27-28, 2010! Thanks to all!
